Jason "Slim" Gamble

Jason “Slim” Gambill is a Nashville-based guitarist, composer, and recording artist whose unmistakable style has taken him from some of the world’s biggest stages to a thriving solo career of his own. Best known for his longtime role as guitarist for Lady A, the multi-platinum, seven-time GRAMMY-winning country group, Slim has spent more than a decade touring and recording at the highest level. He joined the Lady A camp during the group’s earliest days, playing on their double-platinum debut album and co-writing the track “Slow Down Sister.” Before making Nashville home, Slim built his career in Los Angeles, including a stint in the house band for NBC’s Last Call with Carson Daly. Along the way, he has shared stages with artists including John Mayer, Christina Aguilera, Maroon 5, Peter Frampton, Stevie Nicks, and many others. But Slim’s musical identity reaches far beyond country. Drawing from jazz, blues, funk, R&B, rock, and soul, his solo work showcases a guitarist with a deep respect for tradition and an instinct for pushing beyond genre boundaries. "As a guy that has 20+ vintage and boutique acoustic guitars that get used constantly, I tend to be kind of picky. When Pete called me to check out the new Breedlove line, I was interested but skeptical, because the company has obviously gone through some changes over the years. But, we met up at his office, and I got the full back story as well as the new direction, and I loved where his head was at for the company. Having known Pete for a minute, I also know that this isn't a guy who messes around when it comes to having a quality guitar in his own hands, let alone someone else's--if it isn't up to a certain (very high) standard, he's not going to put his time and energy into it, so I knew he must have something great brewing.  And then, the guitars came out. First reaction: they all played themselves. Felt as good or better than any acoustic guitar I've ever had my hands on. And the sound? Just wonderful! Pete can attest to the fact that I just sat there with each guitar and time went by and I just had to keep playing em! I would put the new line of Breedloves toe to toe with anything in my arsenal, to the point where 2 of them (Custom Mahogany Artisan Dread and Rosewood Artisan Concert) have found their way onto the stage with me for Lady A. Breedlove is back to their roots as a top tier American guitar builder, and I'm glad to be a small part of that legacy!"
